Elgin/Willcox Winery Opening Tucson Tasting Rooms
Arizona Daily Star
The 3-year-old Flying Leap Vineyards plans to open two tasting rooms in Tucson by March and hopes to eventually open a third in town as well. That's in addition to the three it already operates: one at its Elgin vineyard, another in downtown Willcox and one in Bisbee that has been open about five weeks.

Wine Enthusiast Names Kroger 'Retailer of the Year'

Citing its vino selection, Kroger has been named "retailer of the year" by Wine Enthusiast Magazine. The widely read specialty magazine for oenophiles has bestowed the Cincinnati-based retailer with a Wine Star Award given to companies and individuals "whose vision has impacted the wine and spirits industries."

21 Governments Represented at 3-Day International Wine Regulatory Forum

More than 140 government officials and industry representatives met in November as part of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation's Wine Regulatory Forum Technical Workshop. Held in Washington, D.C., the three-day international conference was lead by the Wine Institute and the U.S. government, continuing efforts to expand the Pacific Rim wine trade by sharing regulatory practices on wine certification, analysis and winemaking, while also attempting to streamline import-export requirements.
