Kimberley Locke to perform at Gracie Awards Gala

The Alliance for Women in Media is pleased to announce that pop/R&B singer Kimberley Locke will perform at next week's 36th Annual Gracie Awards Gala on May 24 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Hollywood. In the past few years, Nashville, Tenn., native Kimberley Locke has had eight Top 20 Adult Contemporary hits, three No. 1 dance hits and eight No. 1's across various Billboard charts. She gained fame with her participation in the 2003 "American Idol" television series where she was second runner up to Ruben Studdard, and in 2007 she garnered media attention for her participation in VH1's "Celebrity Fit Club." More

To celebrate turning two, Kickstarter (an online funding platform for creative projects) has released a slew of statistics detailing which projects attracted the most pledges. Film and music, it seems, are the most popular when it comes to pulling dollars. According to the company's blog, film reigns supreme when it comes to raising cash, garnering more than $19.7 million in pledges in two years.
