President Barack Obama's re-election campaign is launching the first in a series of television ads seeking to boost support among women. Lillian Gallo, who in the 1970s formed one of the first female producing teams in Hollywood, died recently of Alzheimer's disease at the Motion Picture and Television Fund's retirement home in Woodland Hills. She was 84. Gallo partnered with Oscar-nominated screenwriter Fay Kanin to establish their pioneering producing tandem in 1978. More

The world's most popular social network had come under fire for not having female representation on its seven-member board of directors. The Alliance for Women in Media is pleased to announce the launch of the brand new AWM Career Center. Both members and nonmembers can use the AWM Career center to reach qualified candidates. Employers can post jobs online, search for qualified candidates based on specific job criteria and create an online resume agent to email qualified candidates daily. They also benefit from online reporting that provides job activity statistics. For job seekers, AWM Career Center is a free service that provides access to employers and jobs in the media industry. In addition to posting their resumes, job seekers can browse and view available jobs based on their criteria and save those jobs for later review if they choose. Job seekers can also create a search agent to provide email notifications of jobs that match their criteria. More |
