Trans Pacific Partnership could change the apparel industry

Free trade isn't always "free," at least when it comes to how it impacts specific industries. In the wake of the latest big U.S. trade deal, expect changes in the apparel industry. The deal's impact on the apparel industry is likely to be significant. Some of it will be beneficial and some not so much.
 

Certifying sustainability and transparency in the apparel industry

Recently, Bard MBA in Sustainability spoke with Eric Henry, President of TS Designs. TS offers the most sustainable t-shirts and printing options on the planet. They use organic cotton, recycled materials and even an organic “dirt to shirt” grown and made in North Carolina shirts and use water based inks. They also use on site solar, wind and compost power to power much of their facilities.
 

Amazon wants to accomplish a nearly impossible task, and it's already plagued with problems

Amazon is determined to take over the apparel industry. The brand is scooping up talented people in the fashion world for roles on its merchandising teams. And now there is widespread speculation the brand will start its own clothing label.
