US has been cutting medical research funding since 2004

The U.S.'s investment in medical research between 2004 and 2012 declined significantly. The same can't be said for the rest of the world, as global investment in biomedical research actually increased during that same period, according to a study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association.

The report focuses on several areas of millennials' lives, including technology. Millennials are far more likely than other generations to rely on mobile and online tools to monitor and maintain their health, the report states.

Chicago nurses may strike over staffing concerns

Goodbye shortage: Feds now predicting a 340,000-nurse surplus by 2025

Contrary to reports over the last decade, the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration is now predicting a nursing surplus by 2025. Assuming nurses continue to train at current levels, HRSA expects new full-time equivalents to grow by 33% nationally by 2025 while the nationwide demand is expected to grow by just 21 percent.
