Radiology Funny of the Month
Recently reported by facility having Mobile MRI or other services. "Last week our Critical Access Hospital had a State and CMS inspection. We were cited by CMS for not having a covered walkway to our mobile MRI unit to protect patients from the elements."

The CMS rule: CFR(s) 485.623(a) states that "The CAH is constructed, arranged, and maintained to ensure access to and safety of patients, and provides adequate space for the provision of direct services."

"Every place I've been to and seen that has mobile services, unless it's a permanently placed mobile that does not move, does not have a covered walkway. We've had a mobile MR come and go for over 10 years and this has never been an issue. Those of you that have mobile services, do you have a covered walkway for patients and staff?"
