10. Case IH to produce tracked Magnums

May 8, 2014: As well as confirming rumours of a tracked Magnum, Case IH has also revealed it is to produce a new tractor series to fill the gap between the Pumas and Magnums. Speculation of a tracked Magnum has been rife for a long time, ever since the firm showed a concept Magnum on West Track-made tracks (pictured right) on its stand at the 2007 Agritechnica event. But now it looks as though development plans are finally coming to fruition.

From April 3, 2014: Weagant Farm Supplies Ltd, established in South Mountain, ON in 1953 by Fred & Anita Weagant, is now managed by 2nd and 3rd generation members of the Weagant family. The business has grown and now supports three locations in Eastern Ontario and 67 employees. With main line suppliers New Holland and Kubota and a number of complimentary short lines, keeping up with the pace is always a challenge.

6. Kubota reaffirms position in market with launch of larger tractors

October 2, 2014: Taking on the mantel of the firm’s flagship tractors, Kubota has launched a new three model series ranging from 130-170hp. In what is initially perceived as a natural progression for the company, giving customers and more product choice, the new series actually has a far greater impact particularly for dealers and rival manufacturers.

5. Maple Farm Equipment gets a new partner

March 6, 2014: Maple Farm Equipment is now part of the Jim Pattison group. Canada's third largest privately held company, it has divisions in a wide range of different industries through Western Canada, but this will be the first time it has gone into agriculture. Jim Pattison, company founder, says that the move is neither a merger nor a takeover, but a partnership between his company and Maple Farm Equipment.

3. Ontario AFRAAT tribunal upholds breach of regulation decision in CNH Canada appeal

From April 17, 2014: Upholding its landmark 2011 decision, the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs' (AFRAAT) Tribunal ruled in Appeal on March 24, 2014 that U.S. corporate giant, CNH Canada Ltd. did in fact, breach Ontario Regulation 123/06 by not renewing the Dealer Agreement of Chesterman Farm Equipment Inc (CFEI).
