• The purpose of Canada East Equipment Dealers' Association is to promote and enhance the general welfare of retail equipment dealers primarily in the Province of Ontario and Maritime Provinces.

• Our mission is to promote and enhance the general welfare of our dealer members by providing a timely source of industry information, representing dealer interests in government regulation and legislation, enhancing dealer and employee education, supporting equitable dealer/manufacturer relations and offering specific business-related services which enhance the success and profitability of dealer members.

John Deere model 110 lawn tractor enthusiasts to celebrate 50 years

John Deere enthusiasts will convene this summer at the Dodge County Fairgrounds in Wisconsin to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the production of the John Deere 110 lawn tractor, the company's first lawn and garden tractor. The event welcomes all models of John Deere lawn and garden tractors, but the focus will be on the 1963 model 110s, a landmark piece of equipment produced by Deere.

Caterpillar opens 24th Chinese factory

Again underlining that success in China "is an important part" of the company's long-term strategy, Caterpillar announced that it has opened its 24th factory in China as the company continues to expand its presence in the country. The new, nearly 23,000-square-metre facility in Wuxi, China produces axles, transmissions and final drives "for use in a range of Caterpillar earthmoving and mining machinery."

Teagle launches Titan muckspreader
Farmers Weekly Interactive
Cornish machinery maker Teagle is to add a new five-model range of muckspreaders to its livestock-biased product line-up. A smooth, stepless auger should mean it doesn't pick up and fling out any lumps. The beater diameter is 10 per cent wider, which results in a faster tip speed and finer shredding. Beater height has also been increased to boost output.

Kawasaki exiting handheld lawn equipment business

The Engines and Power Products Division of Kawasaki Motors has announced that it will no longer remain in the handheld power products business category after Dec. 31, 2013. The company's dealers were notified of the supplier's decision to halt production of the Kawasaki branded equipment, effective at the end of this year.

Yamaha sees U.S. sales increase in 2012
Powersports Business
Sales of Yamaha's powersports vehicles increased in the U.S. in 2012, but the rise wasn't enough to drive up the company's net sales for the year. The company's global net sales of motorcycles were down 10 per cent year-over-year. Net unit sales dropped to 12.8 per cent. The decrease was credited to a sales decline in Europe, Indonesia, Vietnam and Brazil.
