• The purpose of Canada East Equipment Dealers' Association is to promote and enhance the general welfare of retail equipment dealers primarily in the Province of Ontario and Maritime Provinces.

• Our mission is to promote and enhance the general welfare of our dealer members by providing a timely source of industry information, representing dealer interests in government regulation and legislation, enhancing dealer and employee education, supporting equitable dealer/manufacturer relations and offering specific business-related services which enhance the success and profitability of dealer members.

At the genesis of the UTV craze in 2003, when the Polaris Ranger and Yamaha Rhino were the pioneers of the segment, any gearhead worth his salt could feel the potential of these utility-meets-sport vehicles from behind the wheel. With go-anywhere ability, a proper roll cage and decent handling, the OEMs and aftermarket were quick to pounce on the possibilities of this groundbreaking segment with vehicles and products that continually leap-frogged the performance of the preceding generation.

Bell re-enters North American market with B50D articulated hauler

Bell B50D articulated hauler truckAfter ending its articulated hauler licensing agreement with John Deere last fall, Bell announced on Wednesday at the Bauma show here in Munich that it will be re-entering the North American market with the largest artic sold here: the 50-ton B50D. While Deere still maintains an ownership stake in Bell, it decided to develop its own artic, opening the way for Bell to market independently in the United States, says Paynter. The distribution end of the business, Bell Trucks America, will be based out of Houston, with BENA located in Charlotte, NC.

John Deere expands Final Tier 4/Stage IV offering with 4.5L engine

John Deere Power Systems has introduced the PowerTech PWL 4.5L engine, which will meet Final Tier 4/Stage IV emissions regulations without a diesel particulate filter (DPF). The 63 kW to 104 kW (85 hp to 140 hp) engine was announced at Bauma 2013 in Munich, and complements the John Deere lineup of Final Tier 4/Stage IV off-highway diesel engines rated 36 kW to 448 kW (48 hp to 600 hp) announced earlier.

New machines from H.A.B
German heavy duty scissor and boom lift manufacturer H.A.B has launched a new 15.7 metre working height TR16JD telescopic crawler boom lift and a 6.6 metre S66-8 E2WD and 7.8 metre S77-8 E2WD electric scissor lift at Bauma. The new electric scissor lifts have an overall width of 790mm, over length of 1.93 metres and weigh less than one tonne — the S66-8 weighing 930kg and the S77-8 weighing 990kg.

Kverneland lightbar guidance launched

Kverneland has added a new lightbar guidance system to its range of in-cab control terminals. Isomatch Inline has been developed to work in combination with the firm's Tellus dual-screen display and offers steering guidance for those without auto-steering systems. The display — positioned centrally on the dash so that the operator can see it easily — indicates which direction the tractor needs to be steered to stay on course and how close (or far) it is running from the target A-B line using a numbering system.

John Deere takes on Chinese rivals with new loader

John Deere announces finance offers

John Deere Financial has announced two new spring finance programmes for customers in the U.K. , which will cover the John Deere 2500B triplex greens mower, the 2500E electric hybrid model, and the commercial 997 zero-turn mower. The first interest free scheme will allow golf clubs and business customers to order any 2500B or 2500E greens cylinder mower from a John Deere dealer until the end of May 2013, with no payment necessary until October 2013.

Responding to customer requests, Loftness has added more features to its GrainLogix GBL10 grain bag loader. These include a larger primary auger with hopper improvements, enhanced tunnel profile and a new option for easier bag handling. With its 20-inch primary auger, the GBL10 is capable of filling 10-foot-diameter grain bags at a rate of 30,000 bushels per hour.

Tractor Supply Company has announced it will be the exclusive retailer of the Jonsered brand of professional-grade chainsaws. This marks the first time this international brand of power equipment has been made readily available to U.S. consumers, according to the press release. Jonsered offers a range of chainsaw products for both professionals and occasional users with standard features that include the Clean Power engine design that reportedly offers reduced exhaust emissions by up to 75 per cent, and an increase in fuel efficiency by up to 20 per cent.
