• The purpose of Canada East Equipment Dealers' Association is to promote and enhance the general welfare of retail equipment dealers primarily in the Province of Ontario and Maritime Provinces.

• Our mission is to promote and enhance the general welfare of our dealer members by providing a timely source of industry information, representing dealer interests in government regulation and legislation, enhancing dealer and employee education, supporting equitable dealer/manufacturer relations and offering specific business-related services which enhance the success and profitability of dealer members.

Finning International Inc. has increased its quarterly dividend as it reported lower first-quarter earnings than a year ago, weighed down by the troubled launch of its new parts management system. John Deere has confirmed they will expand the manufacturing capabilities at their Des Moines facility. The company announced they will move ahead with a $113 million expansion after receiving approximately $10 million in tax incentives for the project from the Iowa Economic Development Authority and the City of Ankeny. Number of workplace fatalities rises in Ontario

More workers are dying on the job in Ontario despite stronger government efforts to reduce fatalities and injuries. Seventy-three workers lost their lives in accidents under provincial jurisdiction in 2011, or six more than in 2010, according to the latest statistics from the Workplace Safety Insurance Board. The board found that serious injuries decreased after the Labour Ministry boosted safety education and enforcement in the workplace but that effort hasn’t translated into a decline in traumatic fatalities. More

Ottawa Truck says it's the first to sell terminal tractors powered by Cummins Tier 4i (Interim) diesel engines that meet new U.S. Environmental Protection Agency emissions standards. The engine uses cooled exhaust gas recirculation, a common rail fuel system, and a catalytic converter for exhaust after-treatment technology to reduce emissions to new national standards governing off-road engines in the 75-173 horsepower range. Art's Way Manufacturing Co., Inc., has announced that it has completed its acquisition of assets from Universal Harvester Co., Inc., of Ames, Iowa, a leader in the fabrication of reels for combines and swathers. The consideration paid in the transaction consisted of approximately $3 million in cash and 5,000 shares of Art's Way Manufacturing common stock. More
