Digging into the certified pre-owned equipment process
Farm Industry News
Earlier this year we reported on the rising trend toward certified pre-owned farm equipment sales. These CPO machines are part of new, or expanding, programs for the major manufacturers and actually build on pre-sale inspection programs that were done by dealers in the past.

Small tractor sales up, but combine and 4WD sales still way behind last year
Real Agriculture
Overall farm tractor sales for the month of April in both Canada and the U.S. were up slightly over last year, but combine and 4-wheel-drive tractor purchases remain well off the 2014 sales pace. According to the Association of Equipment Manufacturers' monthly report, total Canadian farm tractor sales in April 2015 were 3.5 per cent higher than in April 2014. U.S. tractor sales were up 8.3 per cent, as strong sales growth in small tractors more than offset a 54 per cent drop in 4WD sales.

JCB finds niche in the North American farm equipment market
Country Guide
In early March I spent a day in a Georgia field with a line of JCB equipment designed especially for the ag market, including the unique Fastrac tractor that is capable of breaking speed limits in the field. Introducing a smaller, nimble machine: The R4023 John Deere sprayer
Real Agriculture
John Deere's new R4023 is set to hit the stage, replacing the 4630 in the 4 Series lineup. The machine weighs in at a little over 18, 000 lbs, with a 600 gallon (2300L) tank and a 60 or 80' boom. And though it may be smaller than most of its counterparts, it's no weakling, delivering 173HP from its 4.5L engine (which also meets Final Tier IV emission requirements) — a five per cent boost in power over the previous model, and reduced fuel usage to boot.
