Canadian sprayer takes fertilizer to the skies

Michael Yaholnitsky wants farmers to think above the ground and re-imagine how fertilizer can be applied. Yaholnitsky, who owns Miccar Aerial, a crop spraying company in Yorkton, SK, expanded his business this spring to include dry fertilizer. He already has a couple of customers for the unique service.

Kubota confirms death of its president/chairman

Yasuo Masumoto, chairman and president of farm and industrial machinery maker Kubota, died while staying in a Tokyo hotel. He was 67. The executive failed to leave his room after breakfast and was found collapsed in the bathroom after the company raised concerns, a spokeswoman for the Osaka-based manufacturer said. At press time, the cause of death had not yet been determined.

John Deere introduces the biggest of its Class 4 sprayers

John Deere recently rolled out the R4045 sprayer — a higher horsepower, large capacity self-propelled sprayer in the 4 Series sprayer line-up introduced in 2013. The R4045, which replaces the company’s 4940 sprayer, offers the high application rates, productive spray speeds, and all the technology and comfort that ag service providers and large producers need to cover large fields quickly and efficiently, says the company’s press release.

S.D. equipment company offers Case IH new track technology
