Manufacturers say new haying equipment will boost productivity

Last summer, marketing reps from all the major farm equipment brands invited members of the farm media to events in the U.S. to see — and in some cases try — newly introduced equipment, including hay tools and tractors. Much of the focus of last year's new machine introductions were designed to appeal to livestock producers.

Adoption of the technology has been slow, though, with early innovators spreading the message. This year, senseFly, manufacturer of the Swinglet Cam, has introduced the eBee Ag system, billed as "ready-to-fly, easy-to-deploy, ultra-lightweight and fully autonomous."

Yamaha enters the six-seater off-road SxS market with the new Viking VI

Demount sprayer for the JCB 4000 launched

Suffolk sprayer maker Landquip was having a busy time at Cereals. It has just finished building a smart demount unit for the new JCB 400 series tractors, with 2,500 litres on the back and another 1,500 litres on the front. Weight distribution is pretty much perfect, the company says, and both the rear demount unit and the front tank can be taken on and off quickly.

John Deere introduces the biggest of its Class 4 sprayers

John Deere recently rolled out the R4045 sprayer — a higher horsepower, large capacity self-propelled sprayer in the 4 Series sprayer line-up introduced in 2013. The R4045, which replaces the company’s 4940 sprayer, offers the high application rates, productive spray speeds, and all the technology and comfort that ag service providers and large producers need to cover large fields quickly and efficiently, says the company’s press release.

Kubota adds 3 new ROPS models to B50 series

Kubota Tractor Corporation has introduced three new models to its B50-Series compact tractors, adding the newly designed B2650 and B3350 ROPS tractors and the new B3350SU Special Utility tractor to its lineup. The new B50-Series ROPS models have Kubota diesel engines that are built for greater power with cleaner emissions. The B3350 and B3350SU models offer a liquid-cooled E-TVCS (Emissions-Three Vortex Combustion System) engine, delivering increased power and high torque for more strength and enhanced productivity. Equipped with a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF), these models further reduce emissions to ensure compliance with the latest Tier IV emission standards.
