Farm Progress Show sees attendance increase in 2015

Canada's Farm Progress Show was once again a highly successful event, attracting 41,897 attendees this year, up slightly from the 2014 edition of the country's largest agricultural trade show, CFPS show manager Shirley Janeczko said in a news release. "Our records show that both domestic and international attendance resulted in this increase," Janeczko said.

Canadian federal government invests in potato industry

Potatoes are the most important crop Prince Edward Island produces and the Canadian federal government is investing $1.5 million in the potato industry to address safety concerns. "P.E.I.'s potato industry plays an important role in our Island's economy," said The Honourable Gail Shea, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, who is also the Regional Minister for Prince Edward Island and Member of Parliament for Egmont.
