In 1992 the first Seed Hawk air seeder was introduced to the farmers in Canada. It offered features such as independent depth control opener assemblies, separate seed and fertilizer knives and packer wheels that follow the ground independently, which other air seeders weren't offering. Since then, the number of planters has ballooned in Canada, additional features have been added to the machines and the company is now making a concerted effort to expand into the northern tier of the United States.

John Deere announces expansion of commercial front mowers selection

According to a recent company press release, John Deere has expanded its front mower models line-up with the new 1500 Series TerrainCut Front Mowers, designed to provide comfort and versatility for landscaping and governmental operations. The series will be added to the existing front mower line-up and includes five new models – the 1550, 1570, 1575, 1580, and 1585 TerrainCut.

New Holland supports Blue Force 1000

Volvo launches EC250E, EC300E crawler excavators with fuel efficiency, productivity gains

Volvo Construction Equipment keyed in on efficiency gains with the launch of the Tier 4 Final EC250E and EC300E crawler excavators, which include a range of advanced features that optimize hydraulic flow while minimizing pressure losses. With the ability to manually control the flow to the hydraulics using an integrated work mode system, the operator can choose the work mode based on the current job. Productivity boosting features include Volvo's ECO mode, which automatically reduces fuel consumption without reducing performance, and an optional automatic idling and auto-engine shutdown system.

Direct sales approach makes Bauer slurry tankers more attractive

Bauer is re-launching its high-specification slurry tankers in Ireland and the UK by supplying contractors and large farm operators direct at more favourable prices but with service and parts support still available nationwide through Bauer dealers. "The market for large tankers with specialist application equipment is very competitive with a number of players involved," says Adrian Tindall, Bauer UK & Ireland sales manager. "Dealing direct with the professional operators most likely to use our machines will enable us to ensure we provide the right features and specification for their needs, at prices competitive with other high-quality products."
