• The purpose of Canada East Equipment Dealers' Association is to promote and enhance the general welfare of retail equipment dealers primarily in the Province of Ontario and Maritime Provinces.

• Our mission is to promote and enhance the general welfare of our dealer members by providing a timely source of industry information, representing dealer interests in government regulation and legislation, enhancing dealer and employee education, supporting equitable dealer/manufacturer relations and offering specific business-related services which enhance the success and profitability of dealer members.


Cervus takes control of Windmill Ag

A Canadian farm machinery giant has bought a controlling stake in the big Victorian John Deere dealership Windmill Ag. Cervus Equipment, based in Calgary and listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange, began investing in Windmill Ag last year on the retirement of director Paul Thomas. Cervus said that Windmill Ag's average revenue for the past three years was more than $50 million.

Lawn mowers, wheel barrows are now "motor vehicles" in New Hampshire

A statute just enacted in New Hampshire will subject tractors, farm implements, construction, industrial, and forestry equipment, and even lawn and garden equipment to the detailed regulatory regime applying to car dealerships. New Hampshire Governor Maggie Hassan signed into law State Senate Bill 126, making a series of changes to New Hampshire's motor vehicle dealer law intended to give "motor vehicle dealers" additional leverage in their relationships with manufacturers.

Kubota announces that it has dropped listing from NYSE

Kubota has announced the delisting of its American Depositary Shares from the New York Stock Exchange became effective prior to the opening of trading as scheduled, following the filing of a Form 25 with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for delisting from the NYSE and deregistration with the SEC as announced recently. In addition, the company has filed a Form 15F with the SEC to terminate its reporting obligations under the U.S. Securities Exchange Act of 1934, as amended.

TPG Capital among final bidders for MacDon
Farm Equipment
According to a Reuters report from last week, private equity firm TPG Capital LP, is one of the final bidders for Macdon Industries Ltd. The Reuters report referenced three unnamed sources for the news. The sources tell Reuters that TPG Capital is "working on making a binding bid for MacDon by the mid-July deadline for final offers," the report states.

Honda introduced a new model that goes 0-60 in four seconds and has a better power-to-weight ratio than most supercars. No, it's not a motorcycle, and no, it's not the next NSX. Surprise! It's the new Mean Mower, created in concert with the company's British Touring Car Championship partner, known as Team Dynamics. Honda UK says the Mean Mower is the world's fastest lawnmower, and with its estimated top speed of 135mph, it's hard to doubt their claim.

UTV market report shows continuous growth

The North American market for Utility-Terrain Vehicles — also commonly referred to as Side-by-Side Vehicles — grew by 97,900 units, or nearly 43.5 per cent, from 2009-2012 with sales successes by Kubota, John Deere, Kawasaki, Polaris Industries and BRP/Can-Am. Sales in 2012 set a record, exceeding the previous year by more than 42,000 units. This was reported in Power Products Marketing's 2012 North American Utility Vehicle Market Report.
