Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers sold more than $49 million of equipment items and trucks at its unreserved public auction in Fort Worth, TX. Equipment sale highlights included a 2012 Caterpillar D6T XW crawler tractor, which sold for $295,000; three 2012 Kenworth T800 sleeper truck tractors that sold for $102,000 each; and three 2012 Kenworth T800 sleeper truck tractors that sold for $100,000 each. Bids were made in person at the auction site, online at rbauction.com and by proxy.

Heavy-machinery makers push tracking tools

Makers of construction machinery have a new message for customers: You may have too much equipment. Even though it may cost them some sales in the short run, companies including Caterpillar, Komatsu, and others are encouraging customers to use electronic monitoring devices to assess their usage of heavy equipment. One reason: Use of those devices provides valuable data to manufacturers about how equipment is being used and how much is likely to be needed in the future.

Volvo launches new L110H and L120H wheel loaders

Volvo has launched its new 18- to 22-ton-class L110H and L120H wheel loaders, delivering 256 and 268 gross horsepower, respectively. Designed to handle applications such as material handling, road construction and utility work, the loaders offer bucket capacities between 3.2 and 12.4 cubic yards. An 8-liter Tier 4 final D8J engine with fully automatic regeneration delivers high performance while lowering emissions and reducing fuel consumption.

Along with many improved details, the new Claas Liner 3600, 800 and 700 swathers are characterised by their innovative ideas with regard to transport on the road and in the field. According to Claas the new four-rotor Liner 3600, which succeeds the Liner 3500, offers the customer the option of transporting the machine safely on the road without removing the tine arms, and has a transport height of less than 4.00 m.

Fendt unveils a world-beater Vario tractor

It confirmed "traffic" on social media discussing pictures and videos of a Fendt 1000, ostensibly the flagship model 1050. CNH Industrial Inaugurates new Chinese ag equipment manufacturing complex

CNH Industrial inaugurated its new manufacturing complex built in the area of its previous assembly plant in Heilongjiang Province, China. The biggest agricultural equipment manufacturing facility in Northeast China, the complex extends over a total area of 400,000 square meters of which 116,000 are covered. The vertically integrated manufacturing complex features the latest technology in fabrication and two state-of-the-art painting facilities.

Massey Ferguson revamps combine line-up

New cabs and reshaped tinwork are the big news in the four-model Activa S range, which sits just above the uncompromisingly simple Activa at the entry-level end of the Laverda-derived line-up. Both ride on an Italian-built chassis but, while the basic model is still propelled by Iveco power, the S-badged models now have a Sisu six-pot. That provides a boosted 243hp in the five-walker models and 306hp in the six-walker ones – a sector where Massey holds a 17 per cent share of the U.K. market.
