Canada East Equipment Dealers' Association – Organizational Purpose and Mission

• The purpose of Canada East Equipment Dealers' Association is to promote and enhance the general welfare of retail equipment dealers primarily in the Province of Ontario and Maritime Provinces.

• Our mission is to promote and enhance the general welfare of our dealer members by providing a timely source of industry information, representing dealer interests in government regulation and legislation, enhancing dealer and employee education, supporting equitable dealer/manufacturer relations and offering specific business-related services which enhance the success and profitability of dealer members.

A Call to Action: Fatalities from falls in Ontario workplaces

All work-related fatalities are tragic and must be prevented. As Chief Prevention Officer for the Province of Ontario, I am extremely distressed by the number of workplace fatalities related to falls that have occurred recently. Since June, nine workers have died on the job as a result of falls. What is even more disturbing is that falls are one of the most common workplace tragedies.

Toro intros RT600, previews RT1200 ride-on trenchers

Toro's new horizontal directional drills weren't the only buzzworthy machines at its booth at ICUEE this morning. As part of its entrance into the underground utility market, the company also debuted its new ride-on trenchers recently. Particularly of interest was the RT1200. Though it won't be available until next year, Toro had the machine on hand for contractors to demo as a bit of a sneak peek.

CNH Industrial: Introducing a tractor-making giant

New standalone company CNH Industrial begins trading today on the NYSE and in Milan, drawing an end to an ownership structure with Italian automaker Fiat that was as tangled as a plate of spaghetti. Fiat's three-year-long decoupling of its commercial trucks, farm machinery and construction equipment businesses has largely been overshadowed by Fiat's pursuit of a majority stake in U.S. car maker Chrysler since 2009.

KTM aiming to build street bike dealer base

KTM's U.S. and Canadian dealers couldn't have landed in a more idyllic setting to hop aboard the Austria-based OEM's new-for-2014 1190 Adventure motorcycle. More than 140 North American dealerships were represented as KTM held its annual dealer meeting at company headquarters near Salzburg, Austria. In fact, the launch of the 1190 Adventure was so appealing that more than 50 dealers extended their stay for the chance to ride the prime roads of Upper Austria.

Test results released on E-15 fuel impact on snowmobiles

The U.S. Department Of Energy (DOE) released a study conducted by Michigan Technological University that was designed to evaluate the effects of E-15 fuel on current and legacy snowmobile engines and vehicles. Three test scenarios were conducted to evaluate the impact of E-15, including cold-start performance and emissions; snowmobile drivability; and laboratory exhaust emissions over the useful life of the engine.

New generation 5M Series tractors from John Deere

Horsch unveils 60kph sprayer

Spraying at 30kph isn't usually recommended, unless you're travelling over a billiard table, but that's exactly what Horsch recommends with its latest self-propelled machine. One of the more eye-catching machines at this year's Agritechnica show will be a new high-speed self-propelled sprayer from Horsch Leeb. Five years in the making, this brand new mid-mounted cab design joins the front cab PT version and 6-8,000-litre trailed sprayers in the Horsch line-up.
