Canada East Equipment Dealers' Association – Organizational Purpose and Mission

• The purpose of Canada East Equipment Dealers' Association is to promote and enhance the general welfare of retail equipment dealers primarily in the Province of Ontario and Maritime Provinces.

• Our mission is to promote and enhance the general welfare of our dealer members by providing a timely source of industry information, representing dealer interests in government regulation and legislation, enhancing dealer and employee education, supporting equitable dealer/manufacturer relations and offering specific business-related services which enhance the success and profitability of dealer members.


John Deere updates compact tractor range

John Deere's updated 2R Series small chassis compact tractors replace the previous 2020 Series and, along with their new model numbering, now feature a reverse implement option (RIO). Adopted from the John Deere lawn tractor range, this new function is an extra standard safety feature that allows the operator to mow when reversing if necessary, but only by depressing the RIO button before shifting into reverse gear.

Komatsu cuts profit forecast by 26 per cent

Komatsu logoCiting a decrease in demand for mining equipment, Komatsu announced decreases in both sales and operating income for the first six months of its fiscal year. In the last six months, the company reports that net sales were down 0.6 per cent to $9.46 billion compared to the same period last year. Operating income was down 2.1 per cent to $1.1 billion. The company says it worked to offset that decrease in demand by "expanding sales volume of construction equipment in Japan where demand has been steady and in China where demand has upturned for recovery."

ATV-mounted snow-plough shifts muck and gravel too

The latest Warn snow-plough system, imported by Stourbridge firm Arbil, can be used for clearing yards, filling and moving medium-weight loads like gravel, chippings or muck as well as traditional snow-clearing. Front and centre mounting brackets are available and both types can be left attached to the ATV when the plough is not in use.

AGCO reports Q3 revenue & record earnings

AGCO reported net sales of approximately $2.5 billion during the third quarter of 2013, an increase of approximately 7.9 per cent compared to net sales of $2.3 billion for the third quarter of 2012. Net income for the third quarter of 2013 was $1.27 per share. These results compare to net income of $0.96 per share for the third quarter of 2012. Excluding the unfavorable currency translation impact of approximately 1.8 per cent, net sales in the third quarter of 2013 increased approximately 9.7 per cent compared to the third quarter of 2012.

New heavy-duty skid-steer loaders from Mustang

In early October, Mustang launched its next generation of vertical-lift skid-steer loaders to the public, just in time for fall and winter farm chores that require heavy lifting, dumping and hauling. Kubota Tractor Corporation announced today that it will enter the U.S. hay market in 2014 with an all-new line of Kubota Hay Tools. The new machinery further expands Kubota's strength in the agricultural market, and will allow its dealers to serve as a convenient, one-stop destination for Kubota tractors, hay implements and spreaders. The new implements will be produced by Kverneland Group.

Quebec backs Massey dealer's ownership change

The Quebec government's economic development lender has put up $900,000 in loans and guarantees for a Massey Ferguson dealership to consolidate its ownership. Investissement Quebec will provide Dany Lafrance and Martin Nolin, the sales and service managers respectively at Champoux Machineries, with a $650,000 loan and a guarantee for another $250,000 loan.
