Is the private health information of Canadians being shared with U.S. border services?

Ontario's privacy watchdog is probing reports that private health information is being shared with U.S. border services, saying it's a matter "of grave concern" to her. Her office "will investigate the matter and ensure that the personal health information of Ontarians is not being compromised by any organizations under my jurisdiction," Information and Privacy Commissioner Ann Cavoukian said in an email to Ontario's New Democrats, who requested her help.

Tories introduce bill to crack down on unsafe medications

The Conservative government has introduced new legislation aimed at protecting consumers from unsafe medications and reducing adverse drug reactions. The Protecting Canadians from Unsafe Drugs Act is known as Vanessa's Law in honour of the late daughter of Conservative MP Terence Young.

Every six hours, a baby is born in Fort McMurray, Alta. This might be a great sign for the young oil town, where the median age is 31, as couples feel they have enough economic stability to start a family. It is not good news, however, for the many soon-to-be mothers expecting wait times upwards of seven hours at the hospital because Fort McMurray has only three obstetrician-gynecologists.
