Alberta's surgery wait times could be longer over summer
Huffington Post
A health official says Alberta patients may have to wait longer for surgeries over the summer as the province works to make the system more efficient.
Dr. Chris Eagle, head of Alberta Health Services, says many surgical suites are closed for six weeks over the summer, but that may soon be increased to 10 weeks.
Eagle says the summer is a slower period for surgeries, although no one wants to see any move that would drastically increase wait times.
