Starwood Hotels will spin off timeshare business into new public company

Starwood Hotels is spinning off its 22 timeshare resorts into a separate and publicly traded company. That business, Starwood Vacation Ownership, had revenue of about $640 million last year. It has sold more than $6 billion worth of timeshares to more than 220,000 buyers over the past 30 years.

Timeshare owners revictimized by Florida telemarketer

Rance White, 25, of West Palm Beach, FL, was sentenced in the United States District Court in East St. Louis, IL, on one count of conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud in connection with telemarketing. White was sentenced to 18 months in prison, to be followed by two years of supervised release.
