RCI welcomes 150 affiliated properties in 2014

RCI added more than 150 new properties to its global exchange network in 2014. The company had its strongest showings of the year in the fourth quarter with 54 new resorts. The newly-affiliated properties include resorts in North America, South America, Europe, India and Asia.

Expedia acquires Orbitz Worldwide

The agreement under which Expedia will acquire Orbitz Worldwide, including all of Orbitz Worldwide's brands, for $12 per share in cash, representing an enterprise value of approximately $1.6 billion. The Boards of Directors of both companies have approved the transaction, which is subject to approval by the shareholders of a majority of Orbitz Worldwide's common stock and other customary closing conditions, including applicable regulatory approvals.

From New York to Miami, from South Padre Island, TX, to Park City, Utah, the American condominium has become the hot new investment for global capital. In Manhattan, the trend is so pronounced that a whole new category of real estate has emerged around the southern edges of Central Park: supertall, ultraluxury buildings, with more than half of the homes being sold to anonymous buyers (some perhaps looking to stash ill-gotten gains) who rarely, if ever, occupy them. The city, meanwhile, struggles to produce sufficient housing for those who do live here.
