Timeshare was first introduced to Brazil around 20 years ago, it wasn't hugely popular and didn’t take off. However since 2003, Brazil's middle class has expanded by 40 million people and the timeshare market has gained new impetus. Associated property investment is now big news. Samantha Gore, Sales Manager for uv10.com, says, "We're working on a project in northeast Brazil which is managed in conjunction with RCI, the largest timeshare vacation network in the world. Clients can buy a completed three bedroom home, with title deed, and then enjoy 16 per cent return per year from day one."

Wyndham Worldwide, one of the world's largest hospitality companies, has received a second silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program for the company's headquarters building at 22 Sylvan Way in New Jersey. The certification makes Wyndham Worldwide the first and only company in New Jersey to have LEED designations for both Corporate Interiors and Existing Building Operations and Maintenance.

As Canadian hotel sales spike, more foreign investors are entering the market

Foreign buyers reported love affair with Canadian real estate isn't just limited to the residential market. According to CBRE, more and more Canadian hotels are being snapped up by investors from outside of the country. The Globe and Mail reported that roughly 24 per cent of the $794 million invested in Canadian hotels during the first half of 2013 came from foreign buyers.

Timeshare resale website reports higher offer amount in second quarter 2013

Timeshare resale advertising website BuyaTimeshare.com reports a significant increase in the overall value of offers sent from prospective buyers to timeshare owners through the company website in the second quarter of 2013. The total dollar value of buyer offers sent to owners advertising their timeshares for sale increased 284 per cent in Q2 2013 compared to a year ago, with an average offer value of just over $17,000.
