Obama offers a transit plan to create jobs

President Obama, looking to stimulate a sluggish economy and create jobs, recently called  for Congress to approve major upgrades to the nation's roads, rail lines and runways -- part of a six-year plan that would cost tens of billions of dollars and create a government-run bank to finance innovative transportation projects. Aecom Technology receives $101 million design-build contract for water and wastewater project in Davie, Fla.

Aecom Technology Corp. announced that it has received a $101-million design-build contract from the town of Davie, Fla. The company noted that it will design and construct a six-million-gallon-per-day or MGD brackish water membrane treatment plant as well as a 3.5-MGD membrane water reclamation facility. More

M.C. Dean awarded contract to upgrade the MARTA Fire Protection System

M.C. Dean, Inc., one of the nation's leading design-build firms, has been selected by MARTA, Metro Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority, to upgrade MARTA's fire protection system. MARTA will fund the project using $32 million in grants from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). More
