    EBA Committee renewal time!

    If you currently serve on a committee and would like to continue your service to EBA during the 2014-15 bar year, please renew your assignments today. PLEASE NOTE, YOU MUST RENEW YOUR COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS TO STAY ON THE COMMITTEE(s). If you are not currently on a committee, but would like to become more active with EBA, now is the time to sign up! Committee involvement offers lots of great opportunities including networking, subject matter expertise, future leadership roles and the potential to create and speak at meetings.

    Select your EBA committee assignments now to ensure you do not miss any meetings. Current committee assignments are cleared every year and you must RENEW your committee affiliation or you will be dropped from the committee list. Your EBA Membership must be current in order to serve on a committee.

    To sign up for committee assignments, please Login at the EBA website and Go to "My EBA," "Update Your Profile" and then to "Edit/View Information." Scroll down to the end of your profile and you will see the Committee Choices.

    Please use the first check box to indicate your FIRST choice, second check box to indicate your SECOND choice, etc. Please make your selections no later than April 25, 20154. If you have difficulties signing up online, you may click on the following link to access a hard copy of the committee preference form.     Department of Energy approves Jordan Cove
    The World
    On March 24, the U.S. Department of Energy conditionally authorized Jordan Cove to export liquefied natural gas to non-Free Trade Agreement countries. The approval allows Jordan Cove to export LNG at a rate of 0.8 billion standard cubic feet per day for 20 years.

    FERC proposal seeks to streamline gas-electric coordination

    The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has taken further steps to improve the coordination and scheduling of natural gas pipeline capacity with electricity markets in light of increased reliance on natural gas by electric generators.

    ETP unit gets FERC approval for gas exports to Mexico

    Energy Transfer Partners LP unit Houston Pipe Line Co. LP (HLPC) has received approval from the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to build an extension that will extend under the Rio Grande River between Hidalgo County, Texas, and Reynosa, Mexico. It will supply industrial users and power plants.

    Last week, the Foundation of the Energy Law Journal (FELJ) sent letters to many of you soliciting sponsorship for the ALJ Reception, which will be held on April 8, 2014. Not only do we honor all of the Administrative Law Judges at FERC and host a great networking event, but funds raised by the ALJ Reception provide the major source of revenue for the Energy Law Journal.     An up-close look at CFEBA's good works

    With the generous support of CFEBA to SOME (So Others Might Eat), a solar water heating system was installed at the Mellon Street affordable housing project in Washington, D.C., that will reduce the property's carbon emissions by approximately 30 percent.





    The Buea School for the Deaf in Cameroon is also very excited and appreciative of the grant CFEBA awarded to help install electricity in the first floor of their dormitory.
