The women pictured here comprised a panel of businesswomen who joined golf legend Annika Sorenstam yesterday for breakfast and a Q&A session as part of the 3rd Annual Executive Women's Day Pro Am activities hosted at the Allianz Championship in Boca Raton, Fla. The women each shared their personal stories about using golf as a business tool to advance their careers.

Ta-da: Stimpmeter makeover
The Wall Street Journal
One of golf's most obscure and eccentric accessories is getting an update. After two years of internal development, the USGA has announced a new Stimpmeter, used for measuring green speeds. Unlike the old version, a 36-inch-long aluminum bar painted green, the new model is a 36-inch-long aluminum bar painted dazzling "USGA blue."

Aussie great Webb says women's game needs more backing

Karrie Webb recently made an impassioned plea for greater backing for women's golf in Australia and hoped people were not getting sick of her name. Webb can scarcely do any more herself. A come-from-behind victory when playing her first tournament rounds in two months is quite something considering the style and grace of this latest triumph.

Can golf be saved by capitalism?

For over a decade golf participation, the percentage of the population who play, has been dropping. While 2012 had a slight increase over 2011 in rounds played, this number has dropped in most recent years. For several of the past few years, more courses have closed than opened in this country. None of these are signs of health and none bode well for the future.
