IARW Safety Committee publishes accident reporting templates
IARW
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) total recordable cases of nonfatal occupational injuries and illnesses in the refrigerated warehousing and storage industry in 2010 was 7.2. This placed our industry among OSHA's top 25 highest injury rates of all industries. Improperly reported injuries and accidents can cost companies thousands of dollars in otherwise avoidable claims. To help members gather complete information from an injured worker for the Insurance Carrier, and Claim and Safety staff, the IARW Safety Committee has obtained injury documentation templates that can be used in the event of an incident or on-the-job injury. These templates will help member companies to promote general safety and reduce the potential for litigation. Thank you to the members of the safety committee who generously shared their companies' incident reporting forms as templates for all members to use. Seven different templates are available online under Member Resources.More
