From Oct. 5: A Portland, Oregon, USA, man pinned by a forklift in a refrigerated warehouse was pulled from the accident without a pulse, then revived by arriving Portland Fire Bureau paramedics. The man was taken to Legacy Emanuel Hospital and sent directly into surgery. His name and condition were not available.

From Sept. 14: Walmart has a new 46,000-square-meter freezer distribution hub on a ten hectare site at Hunter Park in Newport Beach, California, USA. The building, completed in 10 months, is claimed to be one of the largest cold storage facilities in the world holding up to 60,000 pallets, stacked seven high and able to be chilled to -23 degrees Celsius.

From Nov. 9: A Franklin, Indiana, USA, warehousing company plans to double its size and hire 75 new workers over the next three years. Interstate Warehousing, a refrigerated warehousing company located in the Franklin Tech Park east of Interstate 65, is planning to invest $39 million in an expansion of its facility. The facility is currently 420,000 square feet, and the expansion would double the size, according to paperwork the company filed with the city.
