NGA taps BAE to update geospatial data product platform

BAE Systems Inc. — the British defense contractor's U.S. subsidiary — will help the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency install one of the company's commercial software products into a platform the agency uses to store and manage geospatial intelligence. The company said Tuesday it was awarded a potential seven-year contract to help integrate its GXP Xplorer tool into NGA's Information Store — or iSToRE — knowledge management system.

CNN signs UAV research agreement with the FAA
GPS World
CNN has entered into a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement with the Federal Aviation Administration to advance efforts to integrate unmanned aerial vehicles into newsgathering and reporting. The cooperation arrangement will integrate efforts from CNN's existing research partnership with the Georgia Tech Research Institute. Coordination between and among CNN, GTRI and the FAA has already begun.
