| || Member Updates — Invite a Friend|
Do you have friends or colleagues who you’d like to introduce to I4PL?
Here is a great opportunity for a non-member to experience one of the many I4PL benefits!
We would like to give non-members a taste of what I4PL has to offer, and one of our most utilized and loved benefits is our monthly webinar. Typically this has a non-member cost of $50 plus tax; with this special invitation, you can ask non-members to experience our April 10th webinar for free.
How: Non-members will need to set up a profile on the I4PL website, and then they can register for the event here. 48 hours before the webinar, they will receive a confirmation email from ZOOM, the webinar platform, with the dial-in instructions.
Webinar: Optimizing the Online Learning Experience, Tisha Parker Kemp

| || Membership Benefit: Introduction from PROLINK |
PROLINK — Canada’s Insurance Connection has partnered with the Institute for Performance and Learning to bring you comprehensive insurance solutions at unparalleled rates. From professional insurance to personal insurance needs, our dedicated team can help you find coverage that fits your unique circumstances, perfectly.
Our goal at PROLINK is to help you feel confident that you have the right coverage, from the right insurance company, at the right price.
How do we accomplish that?
1. We believe in personal relationships. We value knowing you, and taking the time to understand your unique situations, so that we can provide you with genuine advice and follow-through.
2. We have over 30 years of experience. As a result, we’ve seen insurance from every perspective. Wherever you’re coming from, and whatever you need, we’re your one-stop-insurance-shop.
3. We represent a network of insurers. We know their strengths, their weaknesses, how they’ll assess you as a risk, and how they’ll treat you in the event of a claim. PROLINK can align you with the insurer who will provide you with the service you want and deserve.
4. We work for you, not the insurer. As an independent insurance brokerage, we are not obligated to sell you on a particular insurer.
Instead, we’ll evaluate the available offerings and the discounts you are eligible for, to bring you solutions to best fit your life.

| || Performance and Learning in the News|
Today’s teachers are fortunate in that they can avail themselves of different positions and experiences that extend beyond the classroom. Some educators apply to teach overseas during the summer, while others seek out year-long job exchanges. One growing area that also promises adventure without the burden of travel is online professional development. Working as an e-moderator affords the opportunity to co-learn with teachers both near and far.
Here’s a fun experiment. Pick someone at work — preferably a person with a looming deadline or even better someone heading up a big project. Ask if they’ve got a couple of hours for training.
If you’re lucky, you walk away with all your body parts intact. The reality is even people in less stressful positions wouldn’t look favourably on that same request.
Learning and development (L&D) professionals are constantly on the lookout for new approaches to engage learners and cement learning. A dynamic new approach to digital learning moves the focus beyond presenting new information and takes a long-term view, adding a knowledge retention campaign that dramatically improves e-learning effectiveness.
Student learning outcomes depend on the depth and quality of their engagement in learning. Since the early 2000s, the concept of engagement has gained a lot of attention from researchers. Scholars often define engagement as a complex construct that consists of behavioural, cognitive, and emotional components, and argue instructors should attend to each one of these components to effectively engage their learners.
