Oklahoma Electrical Inspector Says His Tour in Iraq 'Most Rewarding Experience'

Pete Bonicelli, an electrician at McAlester, Okla., Army Ammunition Plant, is experiencing his most "interesting, exciting and rewarding" time of his life while deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. As an electrical inspector, Bonicelli travels throughout Iraq inspecting electrical systems at Army Materiel Command facilities and works with electrical contractors correcting wiring discrepencies and making electrical repairs. Clements to serve as the company's chief executive officer and executive director. Industry Icon George Flach Passes Away
from IAEI
Former IAEI International President George Flach passed away in August 2009. He faithfully served the electrically industry in a variety of roles, and was known as an industry icon. George was chief electrical inspector for the city of New Orleans, a long time member and past chair of code-making panel 15, a contributor to IAEI News, and as general chairman for IAEI’s 50th Anniversary Meeting held in New Orleans in 1978. Mandatory Apprenticeships Debated in New York

An amendment to Irondequoit, N.Y., law that would require certain contractors to have apprenticeship training programs registered with the state Department of Labor has created a firestorm of debate. Councilman John Perticone initially proposed the amendment and said, "My only objective was that I think we want to encourage a system that provides opportunities for good-paying jobs for our youth to have careers in construction."
