President's Letter: We've made much progress; there's still much to do

This is Chief Bill Metcalf's last President's Letter to the IAFC membership.

Just about 12 months ago, I had the honor of being sworn in as the 137th president of this International Association of Fire Chiefs. This year has been an extraordinary experience and one that I'll cherish for the rest of my life. As I have traveled the nation and the world representing our association and fire service leaders, there have been a few things that have really hit home — thoughts I'll take away from this experience.
