PAMC caps 20th anniversary in record-setting style By Mark Mettes, vice president, Herberger Theater Center Industry professionals gathered in New York City for insightful sessions, great social events, and tours of new and historic venues as part of the record setting Performing Arts Managers Conference from February 10-14. New York City, with its rich theatrical history and ongoing passion for the arts, proved to be the perfect backdrop for the 20th Anniversary of PAMC as record highs were set for attendance and sponsorship dollars contributed by the outstanding Allied members of IAVM, including Wenger Corporation who once again stepped up as the title sponsor. The conference included insightful educational sessions on topics that included new technologies, new ADA regulations, safety, network security and the history of Broadway. The real stars of the show were many of the magnificent and diverse venues throughout the New York City area that participants had an opportunity to tour, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Radio City Music Hall, Foxwoods Theatre, the Apollo Theatre, New York City Center, New Jersey Performing Arts Center and the Park Avenue Armory, where one of the exciting receptions took place. The entire Performing Arts Committee and the Local Host Committee expresses their sincere gratitude to all of the sponsors that made the conference possible. Please visit the website for a list of all of the sponsors as well as how you can gain access to some of the great educational information from the sessions.
