Exhibition Industry Continues to Flourish, Outperforming Overall Economy (GDP)
The Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR), in its analysis of the latest data collected for the CEIR Index, reports that overall exhibition industry activity increased by 3.8 percent from the level one year-ago during the fourth quarter of 2011, and rose by 2.7 percent for the year 2011 as a whole. After a brief pause in the second quarter of 2011, the growth of the exhibition industry picked up its pace. The industry's performance continued to surpass real GDP, which only grew by 1.6 percent during the fourth quarter of 2011, compared to the final quarter of 2010. More

Last fall, Warner Bros. paired up its animated Scooby-Doo character with Dog Whisperer Cesar Millan to generate awareness for The National Family Pack Walk on Oct. 30 at Lake Balboa Park, Van Nuys, Calif. The event offered attendees a day of family-friendly games, training and education on how to enhance the relationship between owners and their dogs. Millan and Scooby-Doo kicked off the event with a 1.5-mile Pack Walk and proceeds were donated to the Millan Foundation, which promotes animal welfare by supporting the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of abused and abandoned dogs (Grand Central Marketing, New York City, handled).
