Fabricland marks a changing neighbourhood's last cheerful stand
Torontoist
Most Fabricland locations are happy places: they are uniformly bright, clean, and sort of dull, like children who have grown up in households where good table manners trump creativity. Toronto's newest Fabricland — and at 16,000 square feet, also its largest — is located in the basement of Honest Ed's, at the corner of Bloor Street West and Bathurst Street.

Art that doubles as home decor
The Wall Street Journal
If you wanted, you could outfit every room in your home with decor designed by blue-chip artists, whether it's an Yves Klein table (filled with his signature blue pigment) for the entry way, a minimalist Donald Judd aluminum stool for the living room, or bathroom tiles by Sol LeWitt. Though interior designers might balk at the idea of curating an entire home as if it were the Tate Modern, architects and decorators such as Peter Marino, Nate Berkus and Delphine Krakoff have used limited-edition home furnishings by fine artists to add a distinctive collectors' sensibility to a space.

Toronto Star
Jackie Glass loves decorating a large, lavish space as much as the next high-profile designer. Still, she couldn't be more excited about putting her 3,800-square-foot Oakville home up for sale within the next few months and moving into a condo. "I don't want the maintenance and expense of a house anymore. I just want to be able get in an elevator and have my amenities right there," explains Glass, founder and principal of eponymous design firm, Jacqueline Glass & Associates.

The power of window drapery
Sherwood Park News
Drapery adds an instant feel of sophistication to any room. Many of my clients who were not entirely sold on the idea of adding drapery to their spaces oftentimes remark that this is surprisingly their most favourite design element that we added. Drapery adds a sense of completeness and beauty to a room that is, in my opinion, an absolute must in most spaces.
