The 2012 London Olympics is on target to deliver more construction jobs over the course of the year.
In a recent statement, the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) said that around 7,270 positions have already been created through work at the Olympic Park building site. It said that it
expects this figure to rise to 11,000 in 2010.
Construction work has been notably affected by the downturn, and it is hoped that the Olympics will help reverse rising unemployment figures in the sector.

Google is prepared to alter the digital landscape of its maps and street view services by selling billboard and storefront advertising to the highest bidder. According to a new patent granted to Google, the search engine and online advertising giant may commandeer the rights of old signs and billboards in street view and sell it to those seeking an upgrade, or perhaps, a new advertising space to hock wares. Google uses the example of a theater updating its marquee to promote
shows that aren't 18 months old (assuming said theater is still in operation).
