Nice becomes first French city to earn GayComfort accreditation
IGLTA
Share
As an extension of its new LGBT marketing program, Nice once again distinguished itself by
becoming the first French city to earn GayComfort certification last week. More than 65 local businesses attended a sensibility workshop and training session held at Nice's Palais Méditerranée Hotel that was conducted by IGLTA European Ambassador Clark Massad in cooperation with Ian Johnson, founder/CEO of Out Now Global and creator of GayComfort accreditation. Nice Deputy Mayor Rudy Salles was on hand to accept the official certification along with Denis Zanon, general
director of the Nice-Côte d’Azur Tourist Office. Officers from AGLAE, Nice's local LGBT business association, also were present to provide additional insight and to distribute the association's foldout map of gay and lesbian establishments in Nice. Titled "Nice – Irisée Naturellement" (Nice – Naturally Iridescent), the program is designed to attract gay and lesbian travelers to France's fifth-largest city in an effort to increase its popularity as an LGBT
destination.

We have begun to accept donations for our popular silent auction, which will take place during our annual global convention, 10-15 May in Fort Lauderdale. Each donor will be listed on our website with their company logo next to the auction item to increase interest ahead of the convention. This is a great opportunity for members to get more exposure and visibility leading up to the convention. We encourage all members to donate what they can to help make this year's convention a
worthwhile event for all. For information please contact Deven Chism at deven@iglta.org. To donate, please complete the Auction Donation form.
