The amount of office space per worker is dwindling as companies look to save some money, real estate experts say. By 2017, North American offices will average 151 square feet per worker, according to real estate data provider CoreNet Global. That's down from 176 square feet in 2012 and 225 square feet in 2010.

Nominations open for IIDA Member, Educator, Student of the Year
IIDA
Join IIDA in recognizing the dedication, passion, achievement, and excellence of three special IIDA Members who are making outstanding contributions to interior design. Nominations are now being accepted for:
  • IIDA Member of the Year: Honor outstanding volunteer service by a dedicated IIDA Member who has helped advance the profession and advocate for interior design excellence. Apply by March 31.
  • IIDA Educator of the Year: Celebrate high achievement and commitment to interior design education. The recipient will receive a $10,000 cash award, sponsored by Milliken, and a complimentary 2016 IIDA Membership. Apply by April 6.
  • IIDA Student of the Year: This award recognizes an IIDA Student Member who has significantly impacted his/her school's interior design program through outstanding leadership, insight, and involvement. The recipient will receive a $5,000 cash award, complimentary 2016 IIDA Membership and a free trip to NeoCon! Apply by April 16.

Downtown Los Angeles is in the middle of a certified hotel boom, and one of the spaces under development will be brought to you by Roberto Cavalli. It's unclear whether this project will be an extension of the Cavalli Club, a nightclub inspired by Cavalli that's in Dubai, or if it will be one of the first Cavalli-branded hotels.
