Nominees Sought for Inaugural IMA Young Professional Award


Just a reminder that IMA® is accepting nominations for the first-ever IMA Young Professional Award. IMA members are encouraged to have their young professionals on staff apply for this award. It will be bestowed by the IMA Young Professionals Committee and will recognize outstanding young professionals who have demonstrated creative approaches to problem solving within the accounting and finance profession.

To be considered for the awards, nominees must:
  • Be under the age of 33
  • Be employed in the accounting or finance field
  • Have completed an undergraduate degree from an accredited school
  • Have made an "outstanding contribution" in their professional role
  • Be a CMA® or CMA candidate (preferred)

Entries must be submitted no later than December 31, 2011 and can be e-mailed to ima@imanet.org (please include IMA Young Professional Award in the subject line). Incomplete submissions will not be reviewed.

We hope that those selected will inspire others towards excellence and by their example, demonstrate that it’s important to be involved and make a difference,” said Jodi Ryan, CPA, IMA director of student/academic relations and IMA Young Professionals Committee staff liaison.

Up to five winners will be selected by a special task force. (Please note: No current member of IMA's Young Professional Committee may apply.) Winners will receive a variety of benefits, including complimentary attendance to the 2012 IMA Annual Conference & Exposition (to be held in Las Vegas, Nev., June 23-27, 2012), the IMA Student Leadership Conference (to be held in San Antonio, Texas November 1-3, 2012), and recognition via announcements in several media outlets, among other honors.
