n4a CEO advocates jobs creation at White House

On January 26, n4a CEO Sandy Markwood attended a meeting with senior White House staff and other aging organizations to discuss job creation ideas. Markwood shared n4a's proposals to target job creation efforts to fields that we as a nation have a strategic interest in growing: jobs in the provision of health care and long-term services and supports. As steps to stabilize and reinvigorate the economy are considered this year, n4a is also urging Congress to make critical investments in the Older Americans Act and state Medicaid programs to prevent additional cutbacks due to state budget crises. More

n4a-NCOA releases new reports on Aging Services Network's use of online technology for public benefits programs

Through a partnership with the National Center for Benefits Outreach and Enrollment, n4a conducted a survey of Area Agencies on Aging on the use of online screening and application technology, which promote the enrollment of older adults and persons with disabilities into various public benefits programs. This technology use report highlights policy and programmatic considerations for improving online enrollment across multiple public benefit programs. Also available is a Aging Services Network report, highlighting the results of the AAA survey and a separate survey of State Units on Aging.
