Recent California deck collapse shows importance of certified deck inspection
Homeowners should consider a professional deck inspection. "A professional inspector will thoroughly examine your deck, provide information on your deck's capacity limits, identify any dangerous problem areas and give you some insight of what to keep your eye on in the future," says Mike Beaudry, Executive Director of the North American Deck and Rail Association. NADRA provides industry professionals with a Deck Evaluation Form that is available here.

NADRA has created an inspectors section on its website that will give consumers across North America direct access to professional inspectors who specialize in deck inspections. "ASHI inspectors now have the educational resources through this first-of-its-kind collaboration with ASHI to utilize the NADRA Deck Evaluation Form and truly make a difference in deck safety and deck safety awareness for consumers across North America," said Beaudry. ASHI members can become NADRA certified for evaluating decks, stairs and railings. Click here for a list of ASHI members who are NADRA Deck Evaluation Certified. NADRA New Jersey travel tips for DeckExpo, Chicago
Hey New Jersey NADRA members:
Your fellow NJ NADRA members are getting ready for DeckExpo Chicago. And we wanted to pass along the great stuff we found.

Several of us have already booked our flights. The best airfare deal – far and away – is with Frontier, out of Trenton Mercer Airport. They have a nonstop leaving each morning at 7:00 AM, arriving at 8:15. And a nonstop return leaving Chicago at 10:05, arriving around 1:00. Many of us have our reservations for Wednesday to Saturday. We reserved seats in the 4th and 5th rows. And we’d love nothing more than for you to join us there. Flight numbers are F9 915, and F9 916, respectively.

The airport is small, and friendly. There are two gates, and a bar. Long-term parking is just steps, literally, from the “terminal.” And the baggage claim uses a single roller dispenser. No motorized carousel here. This is luxury/economy, my friends.

If you’re in, here’s the best plan. Go to Frontier .com, join their rewards club, and book your flight. Right now it’s $89 each way. That’s up from $69 each way earlier this week.More
