2015 NAPR NALTO Annual Convention was an impressive success — Here's a quick recap

As a time honored tradition, recruiters from around the country gathered at the 2015 NAPR NALTO Annual Convention in San Antonio to learn, network and have some fun. Although some members were unable to attend due conflicts with spring break family vacations, the conference delivered an outstanding program for this well attended meeting. Post the event a survey was conduct among the attendees. The following are highlights of the survey results:
  • Survey Statement: Tell us about the structure of your organization (check all that apply) Results: 81.82 percent firm recruiters; 63.64 percent locums; 9 percent in-house and 4.55 percent hospital system.
  • Survey Age Demographics: Under age 25: ~5 percent; 25-44: ~35 percent; with the remaining ~60 percent of attendees being over the age of 45 and primarily in the 45-54 age range.
  • Session: "If You Can't Stand Up, Stand Out" Speaker: Mike Schlappi Respondents rated his content 70 percent as excellent, 25 percent Good and 5 percent fair.
  • Session: "The Future of the Healthcare Marketplace: Playing the New Game"
  • Speaker: Ian Morrison, PhD Respondents rated his content 50 percent Excellent, 40 percent Good, 5 percent Fair and 5 percent N/A
  • Session: "A Physician Panel on Your Advertising Impact" (Represented by various specialties) Respondents rated content 53 percent Excellent and 26 percent Good. The overall theme of respondents comments would be best described as one attendee stated, "Extremely valuable feedback — great session!"
  • Survey Statement "I found the overall convention to be…" Approximately 95 oercent of respondents found the conference to be "more valuable or equal to expected with 4.55 percent commenting "less valuable than expected." Numerous respondents' comments reflected the following sentiments, "Really good speakers"; "Great networking" and "The New Member panel was great — lots of good information."
Overall the conference was an impressive success! As the Education and Convention committees have already reconvene to begin working on the venue and sessions for 2016, the excitement has already begun to mount with new enhancements. Details about the collaborative 2016 NAPR/NALTO Convention are scheduled to be announced in June.

On behalf of the NAPR Board of Directors, a sincere thanks and standing ovation to all of the NAPR and NALTO committee members who made the 2015 Annual Convention a huge success and to those new members joining this high functioning group of professionals in the planning of 2016 — Bravo for a job well done and thank you for sharing your talents!

Physician compensation, dissatisfaction ratchet up
