Government Executive    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Sunshiny days have come to government, as transparency Web sites, iPhone apps, online dashboards and data feeds have proliferated across the Internet. The movement is changing the playing field for how citizens obtain government information. Consumer Reports    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Traffic information for drivers on the go has come a long way since the days when it was limited to Bob in Chopper Nine, flying around the metropolitan area and reporting on whatever bridge or highway was beneath him. NAPT News

Your Support Needed For The Next Phase!

As you know NAPT has been calling since early 2007 for a federal campaign to promote the yellow school bus and with your support we are so much closer! Several members of congress have agreed to send a letter to the Secretary of Transportation, Ray LaHood, urging him to allocate $5 million from his budget for this project.

We needed your help in this effort to write to your local representatives in order to persuade 50 congressional representatives to sign on to the letter. The House effort ended last week with nearly the 50 signatures we were trying to get – a rousing success by any measure!  Now we need your continued support to compel Senators to take up the cause.

Please contact your local Senator and encourage him/her to sign the Cardin/Inhofe letter by following this link to your Senate representative. To access the letter click here.

The deadline to respond is Friday, April 16

As you know, the yellow school bus is the safest form of ground transportation in the country – it saves lives, reduces energy consumption, diminishes traffic congestion, and therefore, also helps the environment. Let's continue to spread the word!
