Stadium's fate could swing C4C outcome
The Colorado Springs Business Journal
Of the four components in the City for Champions proposal, the downtown stadium concept has emerged as the least popular. Skeptical City Councilors have cast doubt on the facility's estimated cost of $92.7 million, its optimistic attendance projections — 781,000 by its fifth year — and its financial structure — 100 percent from public sources. USA TODAY
Travel, big cities, historic sights, free time and, of course, world-famous NBA arenas are all included in a 2018 event announced recently, in which the MSU men's basketball team will join North Carolina, Florida and Texas in a three-game, eight-day barnstorming tour of New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. "This event is not about me, it's not about the media, it's not about the fans," said Mark Hollis, whose past ideas include the 2003 "BasketBowl" at Ford Field and the 2011 MSU-UNC basketball game on an aircraft carrier near San Diego.
