Louisiana – The Sportsman’s Paradise. Our state is known for enjoying the great outdoors, and as the Capital City, Baton Rouge is at the center of it all. Summertime in the capital region boasts a wide range of outdoor activities. From kayaking University Lake to hiking the Atchafalaya National Wildlife Refuge, the Baton Rouge area has a wealth of activities for every outdoorsman.

Activities Abound

But sporting in Baton Rouge doesn’t stop there. With parks hosting more traditional sports such as baseball and soccer and specialized venues for water skiing and rock climbing, there are plenty of choices for outdoor entertainment. If you’re looking to slow things down but still want to get some fresh air, you can also check out one of Baton Rouge’s more than 20 golf courses or take a stroll down the shaded paths of the Hilltop Arboretum.

Large Scale Sporting Events

Visit Baton Rouge is proud to partner with SportsBR, the local sports commission, to help secure and service large-scale sporting events in Baton Rouge. Our staff offers site visits and free event marketing among other services to ensure every event that comes to Baton Rouge is successful.
