2016 & 2017 NASC Sports Event Symposium - Request for Proposal
NASC
The Request for Proposal for the 2016 and 2017 NASC Sports Event Symposium is now available. Bids must be received by Friday, Sept. 13, 2013. Any bid not received by this time will be discarded unopened. It is recommended bids be sent by FedEx, UPS, or other carrier providing tracking status.

The NASC does not exclude board members and officers from bidding. NASC board members and officers that have indicated a possibility of submitting a bid to host on behalf of their organization have been removed from all aspects of the site selection process.

As effective bidding is one of the most important skills that can be developed in the sports event industry, we expect each bid to follow the requirements exactly as they are set forth. All incorrect or incomplete bids will be discarded without further consideration.

The NASC does not have a formal policy relating to a geographical rotation of the Symposium. Each Site Selection Committee performs its responsibilities with geographical factors in mind, but the final selections will be made based upon the quality of the bids submitted. A complete list of past host properties and cities can be found on page 1 of the RFP.

Questions regarding bid procedures and requirements should be directed to Beth Hecquet, CMP CMM, Director of Meetings and Events, at (513) 842-8508 or Beth@SportsCommissions.org.

Ranking the SEC's College Football stadiums
Athlon Sports
There are a variety of ways to evaluate the greatness of a stadium. Huge attendance numbers, home-field advantage in the win-loss column, ear-piercing decibels, rich traditions, picturesque landscapes and amenities are just a few of the aspects that must be considered to rank so many great college football cathedrals. And there is no better collection of home stadiums than in the nation's best conference, so keep in mind that ranking this league's stadiums functions like recruiting rankings. Meaning, Arkansas may be seventh in the SEC but top 20 nationally. With that in mind, here's how the stadiums in the SEC stack up.
