Ganley will explain how to evaluate an ACL tear in the pediatric population, discuss age-related factors for ACL tears and explain why some treatments are more appropriate for skeletally immature patients. The premiere event of the Annual Meeting for Young Professionals is scheduled at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, in the Cramer Young Professionals' Lounge. This is a chance to meet members of the NATA Board of Directors, Hall of Fame and those in leadership positions in your district. It's also a relaxing atmosphere for networking. NATA also has a YP session with the Professionals Baseball Athletic Trainers' Society on the books, as well as the YP annual community service event. More

The NATA Ethnic Diversity Advisory Committee is issuing a call for poster presentation abstracts for the 2012 Annual Meeting & Clinical Symposia. Presented during the EDAC Town Hall Meeting the evening of June 28, the abstracts must reflect the EDAC mission by identifying and addressing issues relevant to an ethnically diverse population. Abstracts are due by April 16. More

Dr. Damond Blueitt and other members of a UT Arlington team that is studying concussions in Dallas-Fort Worth area student athletes gave presentations over the weekend at a concussion summit at UTA. They were joined by other leading researchers from across the nation at an event meant to further educate doctors, coaches, athletic trainers and parents on the best protocols for ensuring that concussed young athletes don't play again too soon.
