Iowa Crowns Two Champs, Cruises to Big 10 Title

Iowa crowned two champions, advanced nine wrestlers to the NCAA tournament and successfully defended its conference team title at the Big Ten Wrestling Championships. Hawkeye 149-pounder Brent Metcalf, the defending Big Ten and NCAA champion, won a second Big Ten title. He was also honored as Wrestler of the Championships. More
Mott Moves Wrestling to Athletic Department

Mott Community College is pleased to announce that several administrative changes are being made to further promote the successful "Bears Wrestling" program. Georgia Southern Sends Two to Nationals

Georgia Southern suffered many injuries throughout the year and hurt its depth overall in its first year of competition and only carried six active wrestlers into the SEC Championships. Of those six, three walked away with a placement led by Thad Saunds at 157 and Caleb Mock at HWT each placing third.

Lindenwood Wins the 2009 National Title

Defending national champion Lindenwood (Mo.) has won the team title at the 2009 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Wrestling National Championships. With the victory, the Lions win their third consecutive national championship and fifth overall. Lindenwood finishes the tournament with 167 points.

Cole VonOhlen: SW Conference Wrestler Spotlight

Cole VonOhlen is a 2008 graduate from Jackson County Central High School and is currently attending the Air Force Academy Preparatory School in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Air Force Prep Finish Third in SW Conference and Qualify Seven for Nationals

The Husky men traveled to LSU to compete in the NCWA Southwest Conference Championships. The tournament consisted of over 100 wrestlers from 16 of the Southwest Conference Teams. The top four finishers in each weight class qualified for the NCWA National Championships March 12-14 in Virginia. More
Southern Virginia Qualifies Six for Nationals

Six Southern Virginia University wrestlers qualified for nationals in front of a vocal, enthusiastic home crowd at the MAC championships in Buena Vista. Fans cheered on qualifiers Logan Davis (133), Ahmed Dorghoud (149), Peter Rose (157), Jonathan Eldredge (165), Adam Welker (197), and Peter Hansen (285). Fans also enjoyed a first-place finish by Peter Rose and third-place finishes by Logan Davis and Peter Hansen.

Six Middle Tennessee State Wrestlers Qualify for '09 Nationals

In its second year of the current wrestling program, MTSU has twice as many National Qualifiers (6) as in the first year (3). The Mid Atlantic Conference Championship was held on Feb. 28, at Southern Virginia University in Buena Vista, VA. 19 teams competed for the conference championship with MTSU finishing fourth overall competing with only 5 point scorers due to an injury-riddled lineup.
