Lightner Named as New Wrestling Assistant in Oklahoma

University of Oklahoma head wrestling coach Jack Spates announced the hiring of Michael Lightner as assistant coach. Lightner served as volunteer assistant last season with the Sooners and club coach in 2007. His new duties include recruiting for the program, directing the Oklahoma Open and summer camps, as well as training and instructing current Sooner wrestlers. More

Alex Clemsen to Leave Oregon State Wrestling Program for Virginia

Wrestling director of operations, Alex Clemsen is leaving the program to take a job as assistant wrestling coach at Virginia, announced by Cavaliers head coach Steve Garland. Clemsen spent the last two seasons with the Beavers. During his time at Oregon State, the Beavers had seven NCAA qualifiers, including one All-American. More

Indiana Coach Duane Goldman to be Inducted into Iowa Hall of Fame

The Hoosiers head wrestling coach Duane Goldman is to be inducted into the Hawkeyes' Hall of Fame. It may be a tongue-twister, and it may seem strange for the long-time head coach of one Big Ten wrestling program to be welcomed into the hall of fame of another. However, Indiana University wrestling coach Duane Goldman is being inducted into the University of Iowa Athletics Hall of Fame class of 2009 for his accomplishments as a Hawkeye wrestler. More
